PHX - Q's & A's
I. Our scripts have special files in them that allow some ports to be open on your computer. These are needed to send/receive files and virus programs see this as a security threat. Not a threat to you or your computer mirc will not have or instigate harm to your computer. While downloading and installing turn off or allow mirc and its files in the exception list of your virus program.
II. If you look in your PHX folder, wherever you installed your PHX script you will see a folder called 'FAQS AND RULES' within that folder are rules, answers, and more useful information. Read it.
III. If you are getting an error while trying to join #phxmovies, you must have our script to join. If you are having connection issues you can connect directly by clicking here. If you are still having issues, download the latest server.ini file. Then copy/replace it with the one currently already within your phx dir. This will update your mirc with the latest working PhX Servers to allow you to connect properly.
IV. PHX SCRIPTS are made specifically for #PHXMOVIES on the galaxynet host. If you have a ROUTED or FIREWALLED connection you will need the PHXFIRE script. If you have a ROUTERLESS or NON-FIREWALLED connection, use the PHXTITANIUM script. As with all online programs you will need to add mirc to the exceptions list on windows firewall.
V. If you cannot connect to some servers it may be because you are using the PHXFIRE script. The PHXFIRE script can NOT connect to others using the PHXFIRE script. If using PHXTITANIUM and get error '/dccserver +sc-f on 59' this is because of a firewall or port issue with the other user or you have triggered to fast, wait a few minutes and try again. If the problem persists there is nothing you can do with this problem. If you are getting a (+server) that has a trigger with 'Mother Fucker Is a LEECH' this is because it is a special (+server) and you will not be able to connect to them. If you (+serve) long enough you can understand what this is.
VI. To become a PHX Server you need the following:
1. The right PHX SCRIPT for your connection.
2. A complete (phx)/(smr) file. (both parts, ie. 1of2 and 2of2)
3. A dedicated connection. While being a server, you are then depended on to spread the wealth. Stay connected and distribute freely.
4. All ports are forwarded properly. Please read the port forward section prior to setting up a server.
VII. To register your nick you MUST have an ISP (internet service provider) related email. IE. charter.net, comcast.net, buckeye.net, aol.com ect. Internet provided emails will NOT be able to be registered (hotmail, yahoo, excite, ect.) After you have a ISP provided email go to your mIRC and ensure you are connected to 'galaxynet' and are in #phxmovies. Make sure your nick is spelled exactly how you want it as you will not be able to change this. Next go in your status window (hold alt and press 1 to get to your status window) Type: /msg ns register < email > (enter your ISP provided email without the < >) It will then send an email with instructions, follow them to complete your registration.
IIX. If you would like to be apart of the PHX crew officially and think you deserve to be apart of the 'OLDTYMER SERVERS' first login, click on 'PROFILE' and scroll to the bottom, then click on 'CLICK HERE TO UPDATE YOUR INFORMATION' Scroll down to the bottom and click 'BROWSE' under the 'PHOTOGRAPH' section. After your image is submitted we will decide if you deserve PHX OLDTYMER status.

Now, lets get you started setting up a server.
STEP 1:
First add mirc.exe to windows XP firewall if it is not already. Go to 'START - SETTINGS - CONTROL PANEL'
Locate 'WINDOWS FIREWALL' and select the 'EXCEPTIONS' tab at the top. Select the 'ADD PROGRAM' button and locate the 'mIRC.exe' and select 'OK'
STEP 2:
PORT FORWARDING is the most important and problematic. It is very important to follow these steps so that you serve properly and keep from being kicked/banned.
First go to here and locate your router. Follow the steps to get to your port forwarding section on your router.
Second we need to find the IP address of your computer to enter on the router port forwarding page.
So click 'START - RUN' and type: CMD
This will open a command window, type: IPCONFIG /ALL
This will show a list of options.
Look where it says 'IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.X.XXX'
This is the address your going to enter on your router port forwarding page, you do not need this window any longer.
Third, go back to your port forwarding page, enter your IP Address where it says 'IP Address' and enter in the following ports:
Port 1
[start]113 [end]113
Port 2
[start]1024 [end]1034
Port 1
[start]59 [end]59
You may also locate the 'DMZ' setting on your router and add your IP Address to the 'DMZ' and not have to worry about any port forwarding.
after you have completed this, save your router page and then go back into your mIRC.
Now, make sure you are connected to 'galaxynet' and are in channel #PHXMOVIES.
Right click on a black area in the 'channel' (The 'channel' is where you are able to chat with others.)
For PHXTITANIUM your going to select 'FILE SERVER - SETUP' (or you can press F1)
A new window will open, this is the setup to your file server. In the 'GENERAL' tab you will check the 'ENABLE ON START' box. Under the 'MAX SENDS - EACH' you will enter the number for the max amount of files you want to send to one person. (standard is 1)
Next set the 'MAX SENDS - TOTAL' amount. This is set to 2. (Standard is 1)
The 'MAX QUEUES' does the same thing, but is for the amount of people that can Q on your server. You can change it, but the default settings are fine.
Now we select 'TRIGGER 1' and check the 'ENABLED' box. Enter a catchy phrase for a trigger name and then select the box to browse to your movie location. (Where your completed movies are located. (THIS CANNOT BE THE DOWNOAD FOLDER WITHIN THE PHX FOLDER)
Now click 'APPLY' followed by 'OK' and now your server is setup.
